The Innolife.net website reports that a 3D theatrical animated adaptation of Soo Yon Won's Full House romance manhwa will open simultaneously in Korea and Japan this November. The South Korean company Dreampictures21 is producing the project for theaters with 3D equipment, but the animation itself will combine both 2D and 3D techniques.
Central Park Media's CPM Manhwa imprint published the original manhwa in North America in 2004, but did not complete the entire series. The story was already adapted into a popular live-action television series with lead actress Song Hye-kyo in 2004.
The MovieWeb site has posted Entertainment Weekly's recent 90-second behind-the-scenes video about the live-action film loosely inspired by Min-Woo Hyung's Priest horror manhwa. The video covers the final day of the two-month filming and the cast members' thoughts on the film. Entertaiment Tonight's own website has been streaming an earlier behind-the-scenes video segment from December. The film is currently slated to open on January 14, 2011.
Scott Charles Stewart (Legion) is directing the film. The film stars Paul Bettany (A Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, The Da Vinci Code), Cam Gigandet (Twilight, The O.C.), Maggie Q (Mission: Impossible III, Live Free or Die Hard, King of Fighters), Karl Urban (Star Trek, The Lord of the Rings, The Bourne Supremacy), Stephen Moyer (True Blood, The Starter Wife), and Christopher Plummer (The Sound of Music, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country).
The manhwa tells the story of an expert in ancient languages who accidentally resurrects an angel from Hell, Temozareal. The man is forced to sell his soul to the Devil in a attempt to correct his mistake. Cory Goodman (The Brood) wrote the movie adaptation's script. According to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, the film version "is set in a world ravaged by war between man and vampire."
Scott Charles Stewart, the director of the live-action film loosely inspired by Min-Woo Hyung's Priest horror manhwa, told the Ain't It Cool News website that there will be a "2D animated prologue to the film." Stewart added that the prologue will be an R-rated look at "the war between man and vampire throughout history, and how that leads us up to the beginning of our movie." The director will announce the prologue's production staff "shortly." The film will open in the United States on August 20.

The North American publisher Tokyopop announced in 2001 that it had acquired the original Priest manhwa. This August, Tokyopop will publish Priest: Purgatory, an original graphic novel that will bridge the original manhwa and the film.

The manga is centered around Lygatto, an "un-sorcerer" born into a world of people who can use magic. These people can make quartz do many things, but Lygatto is one of the few exceptions; Lygatto cannot use quartz, making many aspects of life difficult for him, yet this un-sorcerer ability allows him to pilot an ancient, yet effective, mecha against the invading army of Athens.
Lygatto is forced to make a choice when he is first asked to fight by his friend who is the king of the land and his other friend Zesu; all three went to the same school for learning how to use magic and pilot the mechs.
The official blog of the Flex Comix publisher has announced on Wednesday that an anime adaptation of Yunosuke Yoshinaga's Broken Blade (Break Blade) alternate-world robot manga has been green-lit. CMX Manga is publishing the first volume of the manga in North America this month.
CMX Manga gives the following description of Broken Blade's story:
Rygart Arrow is the only one in his world who lacks the inherent ability to power up quartz, the energy source that makes all of the machines run. Nevertheless, he's pretty well connected. The King and Queen of his country of Krisna happen to be old college friends. But so is Zess, the guy who is leading the army of a neighboring kingdom in an attack on Krisna. How did it comes to this? There's little time to ponder the implications as an army in giant, mechanized battle suits attacks. Arrow just feels like he's in the way - until he comes across a powerful, ancient mech that no one has yet to be able to figure out how to run. But his natural affinity for the suit's operating mechanism may just turn Arrow into the most important player of all.
Flex Comix has published over 400,000 copies of the manga's six current volumes. The wraparound jacket band on the sixth volume will feature the anime's announcement when it ships on Thursday. Flex Comix's blog promises to offer more details about the anime in future updates.
