"Kocchi Muite Baby"/"Yellow," ryo and kz's CD single for Sega's Hatsune Miku -Project Diva- 2nd game, will ship with a computer-animated music video on DVD on July 14. The game's theme song "Kocchi Muite Baby" is composed by ryo, the leader of the supercell group which became popular through music videos with the voice of Hatsune Miku, Crypton Future Media's synthesized idol singer. Another self-published musical artist, kz of livetune, composed the game's tie-in song "yellow." The bundled DVD will include the fully computer-animated music video for the "Kocchi Muite Baby" song, as well as a music video for "yellow." The limited first pressing will also include a collector's card in an exclusive collector's box. Atsuya Uki, the one-man animation studio who created a stir in the anime industry with his theatrical short Cencoroll, illustrated the CD single's jacket cover. Hatsune Miku performed "live" for the first time via an onstage screen in August's Animelo Summer Live 2009 Re:bridge concert. She then made a holographic "appearance" at the Miku Fes'09 (Natsu) concert that same month and performed her first solo concert in March. The first two video clip collections for the virtual idol singer Hatsune Miku shipped on February 10 and landed at #6 and #7 on Oricon's weekly DVD sales charts for Japan.
The Hatsune Miku DVD ~memories~ and Hatsune Miku DVD ~impacts~ discs assembled 26 music videos created by supercell and other musical acts that have used Hatsune Miku's synthesized voice from YAMAHA Corporation's Vocaloid 2 software engine. The limited first pressings of the DVDs included bonus footage of Hatsune Miku's holographic "appearance" at last August's Miku Fes'09 (Natsu) concert.
Two CDs called Hatsune Miku Best ~impacts~ and Hatsune Miku Best ~memories~ were already released last August and landed at #4 and #5, respectively, on Oricon's weekly album sales chart.

Government ministry commissions song, illustration contest of virtual idol
Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) of the Japanese government has posted a music video, featuring illustrations and a song of the virtual idol Hatsune Miku, for a government mobile phone recycling campaign on Thursday. The "Tansu Keitai Atsumetai" campaign began at the end of last year with a song of the same name, which includes the computer-synthesized voice of Hatsune Miku.
Crypton Future Media, the creator of the voice synthesis software package behind Hatsune Miku, collaborated with METI not only on the song, but also on an illustration contest. (Crypton runs the Piapro website for user-submitted content.) Out of the 54 illustrations submitted, 8 winners were selected. The resulting music video is now on METI's official channel on the YouTube website.

Sony Music Direct and Dwango Music Entertainment will release the first two video clip collections for the virtual idol singer Hatsune Miku on February 10. The Hatsune Miku DVD ~memories~ and Hatsune Miku DVD ~impacts~ discs will assemble 26 music videos created by supercell and other musical acts that have used Hatsune Miku's synthesized voice from YAMAHA Corporation's Vocaloid 2 software engine.
The limited first pressings of the upcoming DVDs will include bonus footage of Hatsune Miku's holographic "appearance" at last August's Miku Fes'09 (Natsu) concert. Hatsune Miku DVD ~memories~ will feature a "Black Rock Shooter" video, although Yutaka Yamamoto's final version of the animated project based on that song will not ship until spring.
