First two episodes available on March 25 on demand, March 26 online

The Anime Network video-on-demand service has announced that it will begin running the English-dubbed version of the slice-of-life anime Clannad this month. The first two episodes will be available on March 25, and then online for free at Anime Network's website on March 26. Anime Network will then be adding one episode per week after that, however, subsequent episodes will be available to premium subscribers only.

The North American anime distributor Sentai Filmworks announced on Monday that the series would receive an English dub, along with the Blue Drop, Ghost Hound, Legends of the Dark King: A Fist of the North Star Story, and Tears to Tiara anime series.

The Anime Network started streaming the sequel, Clannad After Story, last September. They are also streaming the subtitled version of Clannad, which has been available online since last summer.

Both Clannad and Clannad After Story are based on a 2004 romance visual novel software title by the developer Key (Air, Kanon). ADV Films licensed the original television series in 2008, and Sentai Filmworks announced its license of Clannad After Story in July 2009.
