The Japanese game maker Tecmo has reportedly announced at its "Rio Super Carnival" events on Sunday that Rio, a character who stars in several pachi-slo (pachinko parlor-style slot machine) games, will be adapted into a television anime tentatively titled Rio. The following voice actresses from last year's revamp of the character franchise appeared at the special Valentine's Day events:

Marina Inoue: Rio Rollins Tachibana Ayana Taketatsu: Mint Clark Chiaki Takahashi: Rina Yukari Fukui: Anya Kumiko Inoue: Lisa Sayaka Ohara: Karutia Saki Nakajima: Tiffany Kaori Shimizu: Rosa Yōko Hikasa: Linda

More details of the anime have yet to be announced. Rio first appeared in the Super Black Jack game franchise from the pachi-slo company Net, thanks to Net's collaboration with Tecmo (Dead or Alive) to create female characters. Rio's popularity led to several more games, including 2005's Rio Carnival, 2007's Rio Paradise, and 2009's Rio 2 -Cruising Vanadis-.

Yoshimune, Kaitō Tenshi Twin Angel, Ikuze! Gen-san, and Umi Monogatari ~Anata ga Ite Kureta Koto~ are four examples of pachi-slo games that have been adapted as anime.
