Hideki Ohwada's "politics x mahjong action" story with real-life political figures

A 98-second preview of the anime adaptation of Hideki Ohwada's Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku "politics x mahjong action" manga, has begun streaming on the YouTube and Nico Nico Douga websites on Sunday. (The Youtube stream is available in high-definition.) The anime will ship on a 30-minute DVD in Japan on February 26.

The English subtitle of the manga is "The Legend of Koizumi" — a reference to the manga's main character, who is a fictionalized version of Japan's 89th prime minister, Junichirō Koizumi. In this political parody, Koizumi plays a special form of "mahjong diplomacy" against foreign adversaries such as George W. Bush, Kim Jong-il, Vladimir Putin, Margaret Thatcher, and others. Ohwada had previously created the Beach de Q, Dai Mahou Touge, and Kidō Senshi Gundam-san manga.
