Mayumi Kurata's manga about dating loser men was adapted into live-action twice

A mobile web anime adaptation of Damens Walker, Mayumi Kurata's light-hearted essay manga about dating loser men, has been green-lit. The original manga chronicles the dating misadventures of a woman who only has an eye for "damenzu" or dame na otoko (good-for-nothing men). The 12 three-minute episodes of Damens Walker the Anime will begin streaming every Sunday on the BeeTV television network for Japanese Docomo mobile phones on March 1.

Comedian/singer Daimaō Kosaka is writing, scoring, and producing the theme song

"D-Woman," which his longtime friend Masako Ohara of the Kuwabata-Ohara comedy duo is singing. (Ohara is a fan of the original manga.)

The manga was already adapted into a live-action television drama in 2002 with Ai Ijima and Chiaki Hara, and again in 2006 with Norika Fujiwara and Yu Yamada. The manga marks its 10th anniversary in Fusosha's Weekly Spa! magazine this year. The 15 compiled book volumes have sold 2 million copies so far.
